KEVIN COLLINS
Kevin was born with Cerebral Palsy, a disability that is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain that affects a person's ability to control his or her muscles. Because of this, Kevin uses a walker for mobility.
Kevin Collins is the President of Easter Seals, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with disabilities. He has a long-standing history working with children with disabilities and Easter Seals.
Kevin describes his pumping gas process as “challenging” especially during the winter. Some barriers that Kevin faces at gas stations include a lack of spacing, the number of cars around, the amount of time it takes to pump gas, and the safety factor. Where he runs into the most difficulty when taking the nozzle from the gas pump over to his vehicle and back. When asked about accessibility options he says that full-service pumps are “rare and few and far between.”
Going forward, Kevin aims to raise funds and awareness to assist kids and their families with physical disabilities across Ontario.
